Hard to Believe!

After 14 years of RV'g the winds of change started blowing and the trailer was listed for sale today. Never thought there would be a day I'd not have an RV or plans to go RV'g... Kid's are in college and it's time to start exploring more of the world that we can't reach easily towing a trailer.
  • Well, well, well. What does that mean? A motorhome? Pickup camper? Or no RV so you can fly or go by boat?
  • Sounds like it's time for a Caribbean Cruise on a Carnival ship, or a cruise to Alaska!
  • Future trips will be very similar to the trip we just made to Miami and the Keys. Jump on a plane, rent a car and shack up in a private home rented on VRBO.com. We don't have the time to drive all the way from Seattle to a warm and sunny climate. Can't decide on where to go next.... St Croix, Antigua, Fiji......

Sounds like a good plan. You might even fit in a trip to Europe or New Zealand too. NZ is such a varied landscape I'd recommend at least 3 weeks there.
  • You really should think about getting a MV sales license, if you expect to get off the roads. I'm willing to bet, you'll be back, just like Arnold.
  • We Stopped camping after 15 years and for the next 13 spent our vacations in far off lands. It was great to see those places but we were always exhausted afterwards. So after 13 years of that we bought a RV and went back to camping where the bed is always comfy and the food great. Sometimes we couldn't get that on a trip no matter what we spent.
  • Well, I really hope you enjoy your new ventures!! As for me, as soon as my truck and trailer learn how to swim, I may take a trip across the pond too!:)
  • We love the variety. Camping in the summer and fly trips in the winter to get out of the snow (that is until we can take the camper and go for the entire winter :)).

Wow! This could have been ME talking! :) We're headed to St. John in the USVI in May. Used VRBO to find a condo on the island. Last year it was Denmark & Iceland. You, like me, live in a part of the country where it's hard to get to another part without having lots of time to spend. The Endura spent all of it's time sitting in the driveway and not moving, so we sold it 2 years ago. Our son is in college as well-graduating this May but then straight to grad school. Can't say at this point I miss the Endura that much. Do miss some of our favorite campgrounds but hoping to replace them with a cabin on a lake by next summer.
  • I dread the thought of ever leaving the fulltime RV lifestyle. But I have to be realistic and realize there will probably come a day when I'll have to "hang up the keys" and live like "normal" folks. I'm hoping to postpone that day until far into the future...;)
