We spent the past week at a campground near Plymouth, MA. A couple of days before we left, a brand new motorhome with a temporary plate pulled into the site next to us. I was pretty sure this was a complete newbie by the number of accessory boxes he was unpacking, so when I saw him looking closely at my tripod mounted satellite dish set up not far from his power stanchion, I walked over to see if he had any questions. Good thing, because he was trying to figure out where to connect the cord from his cable connection to it. When I pointed out the actual cable outlet in the stanchion, I also noticed that he had his 50 amp power cord connected to the 30 amp outlet through a dog bone adapter. When I asked why he didn't just plug directly into the 50 amp outlet next to the 30 amp, he said the dealer told him if there was a 30 amp outlet, he should use the adapter! It took a little convincing, but I finally got him to understand that the dealer meant when there was ONLY a 30 amp outlet. His wife very quietly said, "Told ya so..." :)
