Initially you stated that you were only running the A/C and the water heater but you later added a fridge. Is it possible that you were also using other devices? I'd guess that when you initially connected to the park's pedestal that the RV's converter was also drawing power, maybe at it's maximum because the battery may have been drawn down.
We actually don't know what the amperage draw was at what time but the 24 amps is close to the pedestal's rating and the trips may have coincided with an amperage draw above 30 amps. It may have been coincidental that a new breaker allowed you to have no more problems. It may also have been exactly like you assumed, that the breaker was faulty or worn and the new breaker was needed.
Sorry to throw this out there but my job is sometimes to unravel complex problems that are believed by the customer to have been caused by completely unrelated phenomena or cause. I always abide by "the customer is right" but there are sometime inaccuracies above what they are able to discern. Sometimes, they are above what I can figure out but I seem to find solutions so that we all part happy.
