In my car I mostly putz along around 65-68. I must admit that when on the bike I go faster simply because I like going fast on my bike. No real reason other than that. Well, and part of the reason, on the bike come to think of it, is that if I'm moving a little faster than traffic, it's more like I'm controlling what's happening rather than reacting to what's happening. An important distinction when you don't have a ton of sheetmetal surrounding you.
Man, you must really pedal that bike fast. :S

The fastest I've ever been on level ground on a bicycle is 52.5 mph motor pacing behind a van. Pretty cool.
