Not really. If I stated that I tried the All New Elephant Deterrent, had used it in my yard and not an elephant to be seen, does that mean it's a better product than any other? This is called anecdotal evidence. It's value, to me, is much less than reading actual scientific test results.
For antennas, the information is pretty straight forward. If one has the correct instrumentation, the gain of the different antennas and axial reception can be measured very accurately.
