Headlights when showing up late!

JN B, Just what I was looking for,,Nah they didn't piss me off,, I just was trying to figure out if there was a warp in time or a dimension in time that makes that behavior ok? I read a thread about a rv'er that wanted to install an LED light strip under his awning,, a handful of responses were that they hope he didn't camp near them or about how these lights were disturbing others and ruining the night sky!

But it seems ok to come a blaring in and throw ALL courtesy out the window!! As long as I dont leave a few LEDs on all night,, or god forbid leave my flag pole Red White and Blue LED light on past quiet time!!

But I guess as you see it,, I was at fault because I didn't hand them a trophy or an award because they finally got it back in and set up by themselves!!

I guess if no one is around to help you get 'er set then it won't get done in your neck of the woods.. Don't need your help with guiding it in there, I feel the happy go lucky neighbor that runs over telling me how to do things is the nosy one!! "Uhh Ehh there good neighbor,, uuhh yah,, ya might a wanna try turning them there wheels ah to da right eh,, yep,ah that 'll get ya right where ya need 'eh"...

But seriously,, really,,, I mean it,,,,,I only stayed over on Friday night to see the spectacle and get a few laughs!! It was funny!! Some of these weekend warriors had no clue what was going on around them.. Is this what weekend camping is like?? I mean really,, I did wake up later that night or maybe it was early Saturday around o dark thirty,, to the sound of a couple of folks laughing and talking (almost quietly) to see that they were sitting at my picnic table just enjoying the full moon and drinking a few beers and smoke!!

REALLY?? I showed them the new LED light I put in my porch light fixture,, I think they were impressed,, kinda blinded them a little at first,, but once that bright dot in the center of there eyes started to fade they got up and left,, nice of 'em to leave the cigarette butts on my table!!

I think the misses and I will do that again in the future,, Maybe try to stay the whole weekend,, should be a hoot "eh??

If the ignition of my Pontiac is on, the headlights are on, there is no off switch.

If you don't believe me, check on genvibe.com. Been discussed a number of times. The only way to cut my headlights is to cut a wire or pull a fuse.

Tom, Your pyro may be bad if it shows it takes any more than 3~5 minutes to drop below 300 degrees - it just doesn't take any longer than that. There's no way the temps are that high after slowly driving around a CG and just maneuvering into a spot.

Again, I shut it down AS SOON AS I CAN, but when I am driving in a campground then backing in my exhaust gas temperatures do climb to about 400*. I am going to let it idle until it cools to a minimum of 350*. Simple as that. and like I said, soon as I can I do shut it down. I don't let it idle for any more than necessary.

I think people need to lighten up.. While I agree people should be considerate, it is a two way street.

I know I've shown up after dark to a campsite, and there's nothing worse than nosy neighbors staring at you while you are trying to be quiet, rush and get setup properly so the kids can get to bed.

Maybe you should consider going over and helping out, that would make everyone happy, as you won't be starring at headlights, and the camper will be set up quicker.

I've noticed common courtesy/respect has gone out the window.. I'm apparantly part of the "me" generation, yet I've noticed it's the older generations that prejudge everyone.

Just this past weekend, we were camping with a group, and the sites were not designed for 30+ ft units. There were other campers that were in the sites across from us that were less experienced, and were having issues backing up. Instead of staring and making fun of them, we got off our asses, and helped them. Weird concept..

Oddly enough, most of the "other" campers we helped out, greatly appreciated the help, and specifically said, most people just spectate, which causes more frustrations on their side. So someone who normally is considerate, might have forgotten to turn off their headlights because they are rushing, trying to get setup.

That is why we boon dock or stay in BLM or USFS campgrounds. Currently at Hurricane Creek campground near Joseph, OR. No one but us and the sound of the creek.

Bull cookies! That is beyond absurd. There are rules in every RV PARK AND CG to deal with all of these issues and if you cannot comply with all of them, all of the time it is you that should be shown the gate. Sadly the "rules are for other people" crowd just does not get it.
