YOU NEED TO SEE A MD. IT COULD BE ATRIAL FIB which is a serious problem. Your "TEND to cough a couple of times and it ceases" is telling to me and worries me.

I see a doctor every year, or more often. No problem. As far as those symptoms I described that match the original poster's, I began having them nearly 30 years ago ...although as I stated, they seem to have greatly abated in recent years down to nearly non-existent. I am not too worried about death or stroke at this point .....
