Heat source when away for the day

I am wondering what heat source you use to keep your rig warm when out sightseeing for the day? We have electric fireplace and standard propane central heat, plus ceramic space heater. All sources are thermostat controlled. I am more concerned of safety than efficiency, I'm comfortable with both I think.

1.Fireplace electric

2.Ceramic space heater

3.Central heat propane

If the sun is out and the outside temp is not below 40 F, I would open the drapes/shades on the sunny side (and skylights) and leave the rest of the heat OFF.

We never went away with the heat on and definitely not a small electric heater.

  • I would use the space heater. Position it so it is as far away as possible from anything remotely flammable.

Fireman are adamantly against them because people do stupid things with them.

If you have dogs or cats, crate them, so they can't knock the space heater over, or they can't push something flammable against it.

We have heated floors and two built-in electric toe-kick heaters that we use depending on the outside temp.

    MM.
  • Presuming you're not paying for electric, choose either of The electric, your choice.
