Also wishing for a speedy recovery and many prayers.
I'm a member of this special 'club', after 5 heart-attacks, 2 stints, multiple heart caths, stress tests and ultimately open-heart surgery.
I wanted to share the symptoms for heart attack(s:
- Pressure, tightness, pain, or a squeezing or aching sensation in
your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw or back)
A feeling of fullness, nausea, indigestion, heartburn or
abdominal pain
Shortness of breath
Sweating or a cold sweat
Feelings of anxiety or an impending sense of doom
Fatigue
Trouble sleeping
Lightheadedness or dizziness
from my experiences, I learned each heart attack presented '
some' not all of the aforementioned symptoms while others showed up with all of the symptoms. It was very strange. One episode I was already in the hospital for one attack and was woken up by the nursing staff and they informed me I was having another heart attack and was being rushed to ICU. I told them I didn't feel ANYTHING and was fine .. they said oh no you're not! hmmm ..
I wanted to also mention, extra special prayers go out to the spouses of open-heart patients, as they often suffer/worry in silence trying to take care of all the responsibilities for both parties of the relationship. My wife was and still is a trooper and I believe God hath made them far stronger than I could ever hope to be.
My surgery was January of 2003 and I'm still here .. I live life not so serious anymore and live for the day as if each was my last. It was also one of the reasons why we got our RV in 2011.
When I first came home from the surgery, I was sleeping in my easy chair in the bedroom. I woke up slightly and noticed I had been covered up with a blanket. I cracked open one eye and spied my grand-daughter with her toy doctor kit and she told me she was Doctor Boo Boo Gone and she was going to take care of me. She then proceeded to stick something in my ear and nostrils. I was too weak to call out or do anything so I just sat there. She was 3.5 years old at the time. I cherish those memories.
When I see a post like this there is a sort of camaraderie amongst the patients and one of the reasons why I posted.
Doctors usually have you released back to work in one month, I took 3 months off because I could (big grin). I retired later in that same year and haven't looked back since.
I will be there in prayers and thoughts to you and all of your family.
Best wishes;
