Well my Dad has been a car nechanic as long as I have been alive. He always told me "never buy extended warrantys"!! However at 18 years old I bought a brand new truck. Dad suggested I buy extended warranty on rust thru. (He is definitely not a body man, and at that time a rust thru/prevention type warranty was offered). So I bought it. Truck started rusting, they told me they would not cover it until rust hole was big enough to put a softball thru. Well by that time my truck had 200,000 miles and was being taken to the salvage yard. What a waste of warranty.
