The difference in what you purchased from Dodge, and what I purchased from Ford Motor Company for my truck is it is a real warranty. Only the manufacturer of a product can provide a warranty.
Are you sure about that?
Read your 'warranty' paperwork over real well, that you purchased from Ford.
In almost ALL cases, whether it is bought from the original manufacturer or a third party matters not - What you are buying is an EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT, not a WARRANTY.
There is a huge legal difference between the two, and I've yet to EVER see a true, extended warranty ever offered by anyone. Its always a service contract, once you read all the fine print.
Yes, they'll call it a 'warranty', and tell you thats what it is since its from the manufacturer, to make it sound real good. But, if you read all the 'fine print', most cases you'll find it is not truly a warranty. Its just a specific service contract where they agree to cover certain, specific items for a specific time, under specific conditions (all of which THEY specify).
Will
Just semantics since it is issued and backed by the manufacturer of the product. It is in fact called an "Extended Service Plan" in Ford's case it is written, issued and backed by Ford Motor Company who desperately wants to sell me another truck one day and has a stake in my satisfaction. The plan spells out quite clearly what level of protection I have on the different systems of the vehicle and they will back it up.
