Which ever brand you choose I would choose the steel version over the Al version because of strength. The steel Demco rated at 10,000 lbs was cheaper then the Al version rated at 6500 lbs. I figured I was only going to remove the bar for the winter so wt savings was not a concern for me. The bar has towed over 80,000 miles and I have disassembled and cleaned it twice. If I was starting from scratch and want tow brakes I would look seriously at a mechanical system like Ready Brute system over the electrical type systems like Brake Buddy.
