When I had a blowout with one of my four year old Goodyear tires, goodyear paid for the tire and damage...about $2,700. If you want peace of mind in the future, get yourself a TPMS. I got mine from Truck System Technologies. It's wonderful to look on the dash and see that all tires are doing well. Good luck.
A TPMS system is a must to have on hand and although it will warn you of a low air, high temp condition that can lead to a failure, it will not warn you of an instant or catastrophic failure.
