True story.. A young man is driving his elderly arthritic mother somewhere when they get a flat.. he tells her to stay in the car and he will take care of it.
Using due care and caution he successfully gets the flat off and starts putting the spare on but the hubcap accidently rolled out a couple of lanes in traffic.
MaMa said "I'll get it Junior" (I am making up the stuff in quotes, He tells her NO, stay in the car I'll get it (That part I do remember) Well.
She is the Mama after all, She's not going to let Junior tell her what to do.
Speed limit is 55mph so of course the traffic is going closer to 75 and she shuffles out and SPLAT.. Just as my troopers arrived as well. (Good police response time I have to say).
I always try to put the flat on the side of the rig NOT in traffic if possible, that way I do not have to lie in the road. But rather on the shoulder.
