Hitch mounted mud flaps

I'm looking at getting s set of hitch mounted mud flaps, to better protect the front end of what I tow.

There's numerous brands out there, so I'm looking for people's experience / opinions on the brand they've used.

I have Road Wings which also mount on the hitch. I like them and the same set has been on two trucks with only replacing the flap due to a height difference. I have found that they do help a lot keeping the front of the trailer protected and clean. I have not seen the issue that Tom/Barb stated about large flaps causing rocks to fly up. Maybe he means those large one piece flap. But I have one of those on the rear of my 5th wheel to protect the boat when double towing and it also works fine.

Ah... the "other" end of the SuperTruss.

I also have regular mud flaps, ProFlaps (on the 06 and 09)

    Thanks for the picture.
  • No, I have it as far back as possible. Both my trucks have regular mud flaps, but my Rock Tamers are positioned lower and even prevent road spray.

At the forward end of the SuperTruss (where it plugs in to the truck receiver?)

On my dually, I use the SuperTruss when camper is on. I occasionally tow with no camper, but that's very rare with the dually.
  • Width and height can be adjusted. I run them on the end of SuperTruss to keep debris from kicking up on the trailer.

So far, those look the nicest... and I can adjust the width in for the SRW or out for the DRW truck.
  • We have found that a huge mud flap causes more small stones to be blown up and causes more damage than running with out one.
  • I'd use the system on two of my three trucks, both of which are in my signature.

My "Farm Truck" has some bumper mounted heavy duty flaps already...
