Hitch question?

I have a EZ lift elite hitch setup, it has an adjustment to tilt the Ball. when I look at the Ball it does not sit level it leans down towards the trailer slightly.

It was installed when I bought the 23ft Keystone last fall. They set it up for me, we have taken four trips with no issue and there is no sign of movement on the hitch.

All my instinct's say this thing should be level but its not even on my work bench? Just got it back from some minor warranty issues and noticed it for some reason and I don't really want to go back.

Any thoughts thanks.

Generally, increasing tilt on the head increases tension on the bars and transfers more weight to the front axle of the tow vehicle. Transferring weight forward is the underlying principle and purpose of wd hitches.

    Ditto!
  • Thank you for your replies as it is my first trailer and I am out of my I element I notice and worry to much.
  • It sounds like it's set up properly. If it was level it would not work at all as a WDH.
  • Mine tilts backwards too. This allows the bars to be level when the hitch is tightened up and the weight is properly distributed.
  • The hitch head needs tilt the way it is now. The hitch head angle aids the WD hitch spring bars transfer weight forward to the front axle.

    It should not be level.

Blue Ox has went so far as to build this angle into their hitch heads without adjustability.

IMHO, leave it be unless you are having problems.
