If that was the hitch that came from factory with 2" opening then it most likely is a heavy enough receiver frame to take the new trailer. You just might have to get heavier bars and depending on the trailer it may have a different size ball (2 5/16).I think the bars are rated 500,750, and 1000. Good Luck and Happy Camping
