Holding Refrigerator Door Open in Storage

We have a new motor home with a home-style refrigerator. Unlike our refrigerator in the old motor home, this one does not have any sort of tabs to keep the doors cracked during storage to prevent mildew. Does anyone have any solutions for keeping the door cracked but secured during storage? The freezer is a sliding drawer on the bottom of the unit.

  • We use a couple of wash clothes and a bungee cord, works for us.
  • The Norcold 1200 series has a clip that slides out on each of the 4 doors. Slide this clip out when the door is open and the clip will prevent the door from closing completely.
  • Couple of clothespins on the shelves- keeps the door open
  • Just a floor mop propped up between the door and the fridge works for us
  • We just use a couple towels draped over the doors to keep them open. We don't worry about being secured since the toyhauler isn't going anywhere.
