DO NOT DO THAT!!!! What you will do is cause a vacuum in the drain line to the sink, pulling the water out of the trap. That is guaranteed to let tank odor in.
Replace the AAV with a new AAV. Do not plug it! YOU WILL BE SORRY!
X2, bad idea. The old plumber's saying, "air follows water" applies here. You need a vent in the system just like you have on the roof of your house. This one's just hidden under the sink but still is a vent.
