Ok...to add back to the mixture here. The original dealer I first mentioned (Carolina Coach), emailed me back and gave me an estimate of 8 hours labor to do all the blue ox stuff (base plate, wiring, install patriot braking) at the tune of $123/hr. (CW is charging $129/hr for the wiring and patriot install, but only $89/hr for the base plate). CC is $200 more on labor (an hour longer on labor also) than CW. I asked CC about installing the ready brute elite. They said a total install (baseplate, wiring and the ready brute) would be 12 hours! They never gave a brake down of the patriot install, but going off the 2 hours that cw mentioned, they are wanting 6 hours to install the ready brute. I called NSA (manufacturer) and they said the install is typically 2-3 hours). I can understand estimating another hour, but not doubling the maximum....
Any recommendations of a good inexpensive tow bar that we could use with the blue ox baseplate? I can't see spending $900 on a tow bar, especially when it's a 10,000b rated one and our car is only around 3000-3500lbs...
