Have you looked at install instructions? I looked at BlueOx and Roadmaster. Just tried DEMCO but they don't offer base plates for Focus.
Both BOx and RM are pretty involved installs. I worried when RM says we need a reciprocating saw, but then could tell it was only for trimming plastic. Both require a hole saw to get access inside the frame rails to install nuts.
I did not look at the estimated hours or degree of difficulty rating some instructions have. I'd think somebody who had the tools and knew what they were doing would be about 04 hours.
If you haven't look at the instructions for BOx and RM base plates. Both are "hidden" style, but the BOx seems to pass through a less obvious part of the fascia. Downside could be you'd need either a drop adapter or a still-deeper drop adapter than the RM would require.
I believe you can get adapters to adapt any BOx, DEMCO or RM tow bar to any BOx, DEMCO or RM base plate. That said, the BOx base plate is what you want (price, appearance, ease of install) then it'll cost extra to adapt a DEMCO or RM tow bar to it.
It may have been said before, but you really can't go wrong from a quality or performance standpoint whether BOx, DEMCO, RM, ReadyBrute. They're all well made and will serve you well.
There was no issue with the install time for the baseplate. They were both around 4 hrs or less. It was the labor time they wanted to install the ready brute elite (around 6 hours), because they never done it on our type of vehicle before. Manufacturer says typical install is 2-3 hours.
