Home Depot now selling batteries

I was in the local HD yesterday and wandered into the tool section looking for clearance items. There sat 2 racks of Exide automotive batteries. One rack was branded as Exide, the other Titan by Exide. Prices weren't terrible, and the availability may save some of us from the crappy WM brands if we need one in a pinch. I don't know if this is a national thing, or if Lowes will follow or has already done this. They seemed to have all the more popular groups covered.

  • For what it is worth, NAPA batteries are made by Exide and highly rated.
  • Per their website, Home Depot isn't doing you any favors with those battery prices. The prices are very high ... probably because they advertise free shipping to your home and of course, have their cost for shipping included in the prices.

Even at today's prices, $350-$400+ dollars is a bit much for a ~100 amp hour Group 30/31 12V AGM battery suitable for RV use.
  • Its not WHERE you buy them, its how you TREAT them, like the other post, only a few manufacturers for all the different "brands". JMHO..........
  • The Wal-Mart Everstart batteries get excellent reviews in Consumer Reports. So do the Costco brand.

    Both are "best buys"
  • My last Walmart RV battery only lasted seven years. Still good when I traded trailers. JMHO

Did you check to see where they are made ? Probably the same plant that makes Wal-mart, NAPA, etc. Batteries are like tires, relatively few manufacturers and lots of brands.

    100% correct..........
