Update – This is getting complicated. Honda service tech says there is a “brake system electrical overload”. He’s saying that because there is non factory “wiring”, investigation to determine exactly what the problem is won’t be covered under warrantee. They want $150 for diagnosis; then likely a full dealer price to replace some sort of braking electrical components.
The only non factory wiring is the tail light wiring which only connects the RV to the CRV's tail lights, not the braking system. (I used a TrailerMate plug/play kit with diodes built in)
The only other possibility is the BrakeBuddy. It’s a 10 year old “Classic” model. Yes, I do “prime” the brakes by pushing Test several times before each departure.
Any one had issues with CRV braking electronics?
