Depends on which brand base plate. I used Demco. Not hard. Had to drill 2 holes which you need very good bit for. Tempered steel frame. Had to squeeze the power steering cooler. Had to cut a few plastic tabs to allow the towing tabs to go through.
Taking the bumper cover off is intimidating but not hard. Lots of buttons and a few screws. Worst thing is I set it next to the car on the concrete and a gust of wind blew it over and it got a few minuscule scratches.
Next one I did, I sat it on a old bed spread and wrapped it up while it was off.
Hint; go to the junkyard and get a horn off of a Honda Accord and add it next the single factory horn while the cover is off.
