Yeppers, the Honda CR-V's can be towed four down. We had an '07 AWD and now a '13 AWD. Honda's, in my opinion, aren't really AWD or 4WD. What happens is, is when the front looses traction, the rear wheels kick in.
There was a youtube video on 'true' 4WD and I think Suburu's, Jeeps and maybe a couple of others will send the power to the wheel with traction. So, the Toyota Rav4, Toyota Highlander, Honda CR-V and many other AWD systems can't pull up a 'test ramp' with just one wheel having traction. The Jeep Grand Cherokee I owned years ago had Quadra-Drive which would send power to the wheel with traction (If it would have only stayed out of the shop long enough to use).
