Honda CRV

I dont have the foggiest idea where this actually belongs.....so Mods move it where you think it should go..?

Honda makes a CRV in 2wh drive and in All Wheel drive ( that some refer to as 4wheel drive) And I have read where EITHER / OR can be towed..flat on the ground with a proper tow bar.

True or False?

Id like to be POSITIVE of with or both cn be towed before I buy either!

Thanks
  • If you want to make yourself happy, go to a Honda dealer and look in any CRV manual...it will tell you exactly what you have to do to tow it.

True--both 2-4 wheel drive can be flat towed, I tow the 2 wheel drive.

You definitely want to put a fuse switch in to switch off the radio fuse or you will have a dead battery.

The 2014 I hear is coming out with a 6 speed tranny. The current 2013 is a 5 speed. So maybe the 2014 can or can not be towed four wheels down??
  • i HAVE A 2005 crv WITH 2 WHEEL DRIVE AND TOW IT ALL THE TIME!

I have a 2008 AWD which I tow 4 down with no problems. Love the car and tows easily.
I would buy the same car again, and recommend it if you want a good, dependable toad.

  • Probably out of date BUT we flat tow our '99 CRV AWD. It does not accumulate miles while being towed! So only wears the tires. No fuses to pull! Only hook up, ith brake on run the tranny (auto) through each of the gears, leave it in neutral, key in accessory position (so steering wheel is not locked) and go!

In spite of no miles while being towed the old dear thing has over 140,000 miles!!
  • I know that both 2013 models can be flat towed. You may have to pull a fuse if you get the navigation system.
