I'll admit that last summer, as we looked for a travel trailer, I had called General in Michigan (who we had purchased a Class C from a long time prior). The salesman said that since we were a returning customer, he'd knock half off the almost $4,000 in upcharges/fees/prep that come with each purchase. I thanked him as I rolled my eyes....
Then I found a used trailer I liked at Curtis Trailer Center in Schoolcraft, MI. They were super-nice, knowledgeable, zero-pressure; and didn't add anything to the end price other than sales tax and title transfer fee as required by the state.
So yes, there are good dealers out there - look for the "mom-and-pops" who rely on positive word-of-mouth advertising. And ALWAYS get the out-the-door price!
