IMO, the more comfortable you are, and the more you appear to know about what you're looking for, and what you are willing to pay for it, (what it should sell for) the more honesty you'll likely get from whoever you deal with.
IMO, it's really a game where both parties are trying to get the best deal, . . . . . for themselves. Salespeople will say ANYTHING until you call their bluff. As a buyer, as soon as you do that, the better. (for you) If you don't, . . . . well be prepared for what comes next!
