The bulk of the problem lies with a lot of people who can't seem to refrain from putting their 2 cents in, where it's absolutely worthless, unnecessary and unwelcome. Most closed threads anywhere, all we see now are what's left after moderators have had to delete and edit over and over again because people can't contain themselves. Looking at it, when the fixing is done, the discussion might look pretty tame, but that doesn't means that that's where it was when closure was necessary.
