HOT WATER IN SHOWER OR NOT

Yup! Thats how they all work. Unless your boondocking with no facilities, then leave it on.

If your's is the original shower head that came with your camper, then "yes", that is just the way it is. You can always replace the shower head, even those on the end of a hose with any household conventional shower head or shower hose with head. The pipe threading is 1/2 inch, same as any household shower head or hand held shower wand.

You could even attach one of these and then you'd never have to worry about cold first, then warm....

When you shut off the hand held, let it just dribble a little and the temp will stay as you set it.

What's happening when the shower head valve is shut off is the cold water is pushing the hot water back in the line so when the valve opens you get a cold blast first. I installed check valves on our shower hot and cold lines at the faucet inlets to prevent the back feeding when the shower head valve is shut off. Problem solved...

We have the opposite situation. It blasts out scalding hot when turning the shower head valve back on...ouch...stand back...

the garden hose nozzle would be different but i'm not sure the nozzle is the problem.? see above post

I got the temp just right between hot and cold mix and put a piece of red vapour barrier tape on each tap top to mark where they should be.

Doing navy showers, I set the taps and turn on the shower away from me then use it when the temp is right. Shut off and turn on, no problem, aim it away until it is safe to aim it at yourself (or anybody with you :) ).

Step aside for an instant.
