Years ago when I was living on the Buenos Aires NWR in a falling-down adobe house, I had a pretty amazing experience once with a packrat that had settled in my propane heater. His cache included a whole box of nails carried in there one by one, pieces of my solar shower, numerous other items, and the best part ... the two mouse traps I had set out to try to get him before I realized he was a gigundous packrat. I finally caught him with a borrowed live trap and relocated him.
