I think I would try to find someone by word of mouth. We have house sat for good friends for about 3 weeks, not a problem, we live about 5 miles away. We watched my neighbors house for 4 months. I even felt funny walking into their bedroom. I know how much friends appreciated it due to our honest nature but not everyone is as honest as we are. I would be very careful because of the wackos out there.
