How about another "Cooler" question

So we know how much these high end coolers cost(Yeti, Pelican etc etc)...not even sure I need one but I am interested in the ice retention. I bring it up now, wondering if anyone has purchased any of the Coleman high end cooler(Esky Brand)? I'm in Branson now and at their Outlet store they have 30% off plus I have a 30.00 off coupon in another book. Prices at the store are pretty much inline with internet prices so for instance, there 205 quart cooler at 729.00 would be 480.00 +/-....I guess if I want one this might be a good time to buy? Any comment's on this Brand?

    Man some people have way too much money to spend! $480 for an ice chest????

    if you want it,and you can afford it,you should buy it, your only gonna be hear on earth one time enjoy it while you can.

    We just took our portable ice maker out on its first trip with us, and loved it. All the ice we wanted, when we wanted it, with the temps up in the 90s. Just plug it in, add water and wait a few minutes. Cost us less than $100 at Sams.

    I think I prefer my idea to building one from scratch. just get a decent cooler and add the foam insulation to the inside.

    Gee thanks for all the idea's!!! :-) I watch my camping buddy spent about 5 bucks a day of ice to keep his beer cold....30 days, that's 150.00 bucks. Of course I suggested to him...why not get a small refrig(just for beer)...no, he'd rather spend the money on Ice. So...back to my original question(yep, I know it's alot of money) but cheaper than other models(ie Yeti)....I guess no one has any personal experience with the Coleman brand(Esky). Oh ....yes, I'm independently wealthy!!!!! :-) Ha Ha...

    I have several of the Coleman 5 day coolers. They do a good job, providing that you aren't constantly in and out of it.

    Well that's the issue. If you are in and out of it all day long and add warm cans in often, a $450 cooler doesn't do much better than a decent cheap one.

    They are for filling full of ice for when you are in the backwoods hunting and you need ice to keep 4-5 days.

    For our style of camping the portable ice maker fills our needs.
