Well that's the issue. If you are in and out of it all day long and add warm cans in often, a $450 cooler doesn't do much better than a decent cheap one.
They are for filling full of ice for when you are in the backwoods hunting and you need ice to keep 4-5 days.
For our style of camping the portable ice maker fills our needs.
