- garyhauptExplorerI don't use campgrounds. I carry enough clothing for 7 days and then a couple days 'just in case' and plan to be in a location that will have a laundromat facility. Most every town big enough to have a small strip mall, will have one. Many often offer wifi. One needs to keep a supply of quarters in the `RV..not all places have a staffer to give change and often the change machines are not working properly. I also buy my laundry soap in reasonably sized jugs as needed. Much cheaper than buying the powdered stuff at the laudromat.
I will usually look into the washer before using. If there is a large component of industrial users, the machines can be quite dirty. It takes just a moment to wipe them out. And no..it's not like the good wash, like at home.
Gary Haupt - donn0128Explorer IIIn our trailer. We specifically bought a unit with washer/dryer capabilities. Doing a small load every day is not a big deal. Start it first thing in the morning and it runs while we are gone. Done when we get home. Just hate to waste vacation time sitting in some dank laundromat.
- the_bear_IIExplorerMost RV Parks have laundry. Most good sized towns have laundry businesses. The campground staff or some other RVer in the campground will know where the nearest laundry facilities are.
We ordered a stackable Washer/Dryer (W/D) in our 5th wheel. We use it when we have hook ups.
We have used an old RVer technique when boondocking. Put a trash bag inside of another, pour in a half of gallon of water in the bag with a little laundry soap and add a few dirty clothes. Tie a knot in the bags. Place it in your RV shower floor (or a trash can) and drive to your next destination. The clothes will slosh around in the bag. Once you arrive at your destination rinse out the clothes and hang them to dry. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Woodglue,

One of the least discussed and overlooked things about being on the road I'm guessing. No apps that I've seen list Laundromats that I'm aware of.
How and where do you do your laundry?
WoodGlue - ngreenExplorerI use the yellow pages mobile app or Yelp and there are several others - lets you search for anything - resturants, librarys, beauty salons, etc, in the area you are at or another other - Dont know how I ever traveled without it
- rk911Explorermostly campground laundries. other than that most towns have a laundromat. we do laundry every 7-10 days.
- cpmathExplorerlaundrymats, bucket.
- Go_Dawgs1ExplorerI would check on the Full Timers section for a more accurate answer. I know when we planned our 5 week trip this summer I looked at Good Sam sites that had laundry facilities. I figured we would have to do laundry 2x and we are also visiting family so if needed we can do it there.
- Jay_PatExplorerCampground facility, mostly.
Or local laundry mat.
