My dad used to take all (5 kids+Mom& Dad) out for Sunday drives and picnics in the great out doors,we swam in lakes and rivers, we fished and visited friends and family. A few times a year Dad would empty the tools and stuff out of his company work van and we would go camping in that with my brother following in Dads Pontiac Catalina, some of us would sleep in the car while the rest slept in the van, primitive camping (early boondocking) yeah but we sure had fun! Kept it going because we had so much fun. I started my kids with tent camping, then moved up to a pop up then to a travel trailer. Kids are almost all moved out now and go camping with there friends, wife and try to get out once a month or so by our self's and the dog, will keep it up until we can no longer do it!!
