How do I open this Bargman 62 license plate light?

I have this Bargman 62 license plate light and need to replace a burned out bulb. I have not been able to figure out how to open it without breaking it. Pushing on what looks like a tab didn't ...

If you end up needing to remove the entire lamp sawing gently back and forth with some stout fishing line should cut thru the silicone easily.
We use it to remove mldgs and emblems at the shop.
