$0.32/gal range in gas prices within 2miles of my work!
No comment on campground prices since we don't stay at campgrounds.
A small price difference with one purchase does not look like much; but when you repeat this many many times it starts adding up.
However, a comparison is typically required to assess if something is priced too high (another price for a comparable item, or some estimation of need/desire vs price).
