YEP......I'll save $0.5 or $5 or whatever amount as long as I get it cheaper here then there
Just one reason I retired at 50 yr old.
Pennies, dollars, 100 dollars etc..it all adds up
And not a penny pincher either. If I want something I buy it.
I don't use 'truckers stations' cause they are higher priced (1 mile down road or less same fuel is cheaper), places are crowded and dirty...spilled fuel etc.
Same goes for service stations at Interstate exits.....always higher priced.
WE always travel secondary/back-roads and get fuel easily and cheaper.
KOA (Keep On Adding)......overpriced compared to other similar CGs w/o all the added fees.
Unless it is 'only' place left any CG over $35/night FHU is overpriced.
I don't care about swimming pools, game rooms, gyms, pool tables, community center or any of the other 'amenities'.
I don't go to a CG to go to the CG.....I use a CG as base camp to explore the area. CG is just for parking/place to sleep
Normally we paid $10/$15 night for private CGs via cheap membership and then used COEs, State/National, City Parks (lots of those in small town America), fairgrounds etc.
Fuel and CG fees were the 2 commodities that we could easily control costs of.
I have a Champagne Budget but fortunately I LIKE beer.
