We hang ours outside. If we are having rain we hang them over the closet rod that we hung high over the shower-tub. Would not work if you are very tall.
When we started out I bought the very thickest towels that I bought at half price at a discount mall. They took up to much room in the linen closet so I changed to some that were not quite as thick. They take up less room in the linen closet and dry quicker. Dry just as well.
