How do you know when you are at max angle on the trailer?

If I go beyond a certain angle my rear lights on the truck will hit the RV while backing up(possibly also going forward; have not tested this).

I am practicing and getting better at backing up in my tiny driveway on my small street. I can do most of it without a spotter but I still need someone to tell me if I can still turn more sharply or not from fear of contact between truck and trailer.

Any tricks to this?

  • Back up cameras take a lot of the excitement out of the exercise. Do you have the extendable mirrors on your truck?

I have an F-250 crew cab 4x4 and I don't think it's possible to jacknife into the trailer while moving forward, the turning radius of the truck is too big.
