We also are new this year. Did a few short trips, and then set out for our long adventure from PA to Chicago, then up to the UP of Michigan and around. Was planning about 300 miles on driving days, but because of a flooded campground on our first night found ourselves traveling 400 miles that first night. Doable, just not great. However, made the 2nd day very easy, and we were able to catch some sights, aka. the RV Hal of fame in Elkhart, IN. If we hadn't had that long first day, we wouldn't have felt as free to catch that nice sight, oh..and found two nice reclining chairs to replace our rockers/not recliners. So I would say I can do 400 miles, and still have a nice time. Less is nicer....more would be more difficult.
