How far can you comfortably tow in a day?

Based on what you said about driving 400-450 miles per day,it will take you 3 days to get to your destination. If you have the time, I would figure on 3 days and take it easy.

Same here and on longer than about a two day trip we will even cut that down to the 250mi distance since with fuel and potty stops (wife and two Yorkies) that will still equate to around 6+ hours on the road. On really long trips (more than 1500mi) we will try and have a down day for about every 4 days of straight driving, but usually that is not necessary cause we stop for more than a day to do something over that distance.

Finally a couple of factors can effect how long you should drive because of the heightened awareness with those being the weather and road conditions. Stretches and sections of I-95 in the Carolinas were especially tiresome when the road was "POTHOLE ALLEY" mainly in the far right lane next to the shoulder.

I have pulled the camper 900 miles in one day but as I get older this is harder to do. I will start taking two days or 450 miles max in the future.

I pulled a 17 foot camper from Shenandoah NP home to New Philadelphia, Ohio this spring- 12 hour trip including blown tire on camper on I77 in WV. Way too
long of a drive for me anymore. At 62 years old, sometimes I still act like I'm 32. I try to plan trips in the mh for 300 miles a day or 6 hours driving time, not including rest stops.

it all depends on you guys and how you long you can handle the truck.

Between 5-6 hrs. in the truck is enough for us. We have pushed 9-10 hr drives and by the time I get out of the truck my butt and mind are warped :)

We prefer 5-6 hrs cause we stop just enough for bathroom/food breaks to make the trip enjoyable. after that it is all mind and body numbing for us.

I would plan the 3 days and take it easier but if you can muscle thru, then go for it.

I do a 450 mile haul across Texas on I-10 three or four times a year. That's about as far as I would want to tow in one day and I wouldn't want to do that more than two or three days straight. But that's me, YMMV.

When we pulled to the Grand Canyon it took us 35 hours. I was younger and working so I drove just a little longer than I do now. I guess I had about 8 hours behind the wheel with the other two hours for fueling and stretch stops.
Today, 6 to 8 hours is max.

The longest I've driven was 14 hours/800 miles. That is very long, you need to be prepared for that! Normally I drive for a max of 8 hours, 11 if it's doable. the miles vary depending on how often I stop and where I'm going.

If we have an 1100 mile trip (one way) we will typically do two days down, three days back. First day - 700 miles, second day, remaining miles. On the way back, we always plan an extra day, as we seem to be much less driven to return to work life.

10/2/5..... leave @ 10, arrive @ 2, cocktails @ 5. Stay 2 nights.:B
