we have done 10 hours but the trick is to leave very early in the morning after a good nights sleep. We leave a 5:30am. Even with quick stops you would be there by 4pm.
Without knowing exactly where you will be working, Holliday Lake State Park in Appomattox gets good reviews. Water and electric, dump station.
