How long can you keep water in tank?
How long can you keep fresh water in your tank? I would think at some point-in-time, with all the stagnant water, bacteria and other harmful things could grow.

I sanitize my tank in the spring, usually mid April, and fill about 1/3 full with our spring fed water. I then use the MH, refilling the tank as necessary, until we stop using the MH, about mid October. Never had a problem with the water.
If you are nervous about that you could add a little chlorine from time to time.
