Looking at the post that followed mine, I am still using a tent I bought in 1973, so 45 years on that one. That was before synthetic fabrics and backpacking tents, everything was treated canvas or treated "duck," heavy to carry but lasts forever. $50 tent back then was equivalent to a $500 "outfitter" tent today. - discovery4usExplorerfirst FW 6 years.
Second FW TH 6 years.
TC mixed in with the FW's for 11 years. (should have never sold the TC :( )
Current MH 7 years. - D_E_BishopExplorerThose figures prove exactly what most of us already know, a targeted survey is biased by the targeted group. Who was the targeted group you ask, probably folks buying an RV at a dealership. The folks conducting the study needed as large a group as possible in a confined space. Walking around a campground would not meet their needs and would give answers they don't want.
A survey with the same questions asked of this group would be just as biased, only the results would be totally different.
I think that many of those buyers were buying their second RV after having bought what they thought they wanted or to just see if they liked the life style. Most of us on the other hand love the life style and research what we buy. - jplante4Explorer II

Too bad this site doesn't let you set up a poll that would display like a graph to show the age range numbers.
Keep 'em coming and I'll transfer the answers to a spreadsheet and do just that. I'm on the road and sometimes I get bored :) - beemerphile1ExplorerMine is a 2006, I bought it new in February 2006.

This is our 4th brand new camper in 7 years and luckily have never been screwed on the resale. Matter of fact, we made $100 on a 5th wheel after using it for two seasons. Our luck will eventually run out I know, but we are IN LOVE with the new unit we purchased last night. Hope it treats us well, because the layout is ideal for our current style of camping. Yipee skippy!! Tomorrow is our first night out!
