I was watching videos today on RV buying. One interesting comment was "the average person keeps their RV for 2.5 years." Struck me as kind of odd since we had our for 10+ years before a hurricane destroyed it.
So, how long have you had your current RV?
since august of 2015. this is our 3rd MH since 1986. we kept the first 2 for 15-years each. planning to do the same with #3 although so far it has a getting-stronger lemony scent. - ReneeGExplorer7 years for this one. We finally found a unit we liked and of high quality to keep for the long run. We had 4 others previously. Purchased the first in 2000 and the last in 2010. That's 4 in 10 years, so that's an average of 2.5 years! Not counting the current one.
- gboppExplorer11 years.
- jplante4Explorer IIWe've had the Sahara for 4 years, the previous owner had it only a year. The original owner had it 18 years.
People who buy a new RV every 2.5 years have more money than brains. - TimnJoExplorerAll fifth wheels:
1 - 1996 Golden Falcon 29RG 2005 -> 2008, loved it, upgraded to #2
2 - 2002 Glendale Titanium 32E37 2008 -> 2011 loved it, upgraded to #3
3 - 2008 Heartland Bighorn 3400RL 2011 -> 2017 sold for virtually nothing as it had water damage undetected until the spring when it was too late, as well as major cracks at all the corners of all the slides.
4 - 2010 Carriage Cameo 36FWS 2017 -> present, pretty sure (at least I hope) this will last us the rest of our RVing lives. - current was ordered and delivered July of "15"
prior was 8 years old
prior was 6 years old
then a hand full of other small units getting our feet wet . . - B_GAGEExplorerWe've had the Arctic Fox 22GQ for almost 15 years and the Wolfcreek for 2 years.
- neschultzExplorerRV 1 - TT for 2 years
RV 2 - Class A Winnebago Via for 3 years
Current RV - TT For 2 years so far; plan to keep it til we’re too old to use it anymore
