How long to go from idea to execution for a trip?

Back in my working days, it wasn't uncommon that either I would call my wife or she would call me just before I left for home on a Friday to see if we wanted to head off to one of the area state parks for the weekend. Once we agreed to that, by the time I got home about 25 minutes later all that was needed was to drop the trailer on the truck's hitch ball, plug it in, and roll out.
