Honestly. You will NEVER average 60 MPH while driving. you have to count in meals, restroom stops, fuel stops. Ect. You will be lucky to average 45, or 50 MPH.
and averaging 50 MPG. 500 miles will take you 10 hours. So 20 hours will get you 1000 miles, or less. Leaving 260, or 5.2 hours to go. So you are looking at more than 25 hours of driving. Figure out for your self how far you want to drive in one day. 500 miles is a LONG time.
I wouldn't do it in less than 3 days
