Leave at the scheduled time and 10 hours later call to let them know you had mechanical problems and were barely able to limp into Branson, MO. The mechanic says it will be several days as he has to order parts. Give your condolences then enjoy a nice stress (and family) free vacation. But that's just me.
If your high school aged kids have a driver's license you can still drive (way cheaper than flying). Just leave the TT at home. Take turns driving, spend one night on the road and arrive the day after you left.
Otherwise figure 3 days each way. Not my idea of a good time.
